The existing house is located in a former agricultural/ residential zone, nowadays protected by a very restrictive masterplan designed in the 1950’s. Our office started to work on a new development plan of the zone, more respectful towards the existing (and quiet picturesque) houses, by increasing the space between old and new. A respectful distance allowing patios and vis-à-vis.
The extension of the house is constituted by an opaque wet block (a tunnel leading towards the new living area) and a box, pierced by a low horizontal stripe (for a stretched view on the garden) and covered by a 6 meter high, white and empty chapel-like volume.
